That's a great pic, Mike! I haven't played enough Fenders to be an authority, but I've really enjoyed the Blues Jr., the Hot Rod DeVille, and my '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb.

Jessie Sammler That's a great pic, Mike! I haven't played enough Fenders to be an authority, but I've really enjoyed the Blues Jr., the Hot Rod DeVille, and my '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb. Blues JR is a nice little amp, but better when modded. I had the original blues deville before they changed them to the hot rods, nice amp...super loud though. Even on stage it never got more than 3-4 on the dial. I really like the Deluxe and the Princetons.

I would have to say for a pure organic experience a tele or strat into either the Deluxe Reverb or a Princeton Reverb does not get any better. Amp on 7s across the board except for reverb and tremelo and you get this singing in your fingers kind of experience. Guitar on about 5 or 6 volume wise. Pushed a little farther they both break up really nice. For big clean a twin or vibrolux carries the day. That's my call and nice picture by the way.

mike_mccue Whats your favorite Fender sound? It's always a tough choice. :-) We're remodeling and I had a chance to put these all in one room today for a quick photo to promo the Fender amp selection available: Just thought I'd share the photo cause I kinda thought it came out nice. best regards, mike Gonk for days... wow. That photo makes great Windows wallpaper.

The circuit in the Princeton had almost no significant changes from the 60s to the 80s. So, it's in there just hiding.

Dang.... sweet shot Mike. Always thought the Twin Reverb had to be played loud to get a great tone... not that loud is a bad thing of course. For me, the only brand new amp I have ever bought is the Hot Rod DeVille coz it has the delight of a Bassman with some serious channel switch options and the Tube Screamer and Cry Baby sound like ear honey through this amp. Might be picking up a Blues Junior soon too... .. did I mention that's a great shot Mike? ...very distracting.

That picture is what you would see as you've passed from this life into the great beyond and you hear the voice say, "You passed the test, here's your reward." I've got a beat to crap, Fender Bassman head into a 2 x 12 Celestion Blues cabinet that I like. It's my clean Fender set up I've got a Fender Pro Junior head that I re-worked and placed in a custom built cabinet that sits on a 4 x12 Marshall 1960a cabinet. I use this for my dirty Fender sound. I also have a Fender Bassman 20 which is an all tube bass combo amp with 1 - 15" speaker. It sounds good on guitar or bass in a studio setting. Two or three more Fenders would do me nicely.

you know, once upon a time, i toured with a Twin, it was the 2nd part of a two-amp setup, with my mesa boogie as the 'drive' amp, and the twin as the loud-clean amp. i really liked that sound.... it was just too big and heavy to carry around. (2) jbl's in it, it must have weighed as much as a mini cooper.

I likes em all. My fav probably has to be my 64 Princeton 6G2 it just sings so nice. Also have a thing for my 64 Deluxe reverb not in pic but can be a bit loud for recording.

I have a 1964 Super Reverb with the original Jensen Ceramics and it's by far the best Fender tone I've ever played through. Plug a 63 strat into it and magic happens. :)

My favorite Fender sound? 1963 Bandmaster piggyback with 2X12 JBL's in the cab. Traded a 1974 hardtail root-beer colored Strat for it years ago. It *should* be blonde tolex but is black, verified as a factory job, so it would have to be one of the first black tolex amps Fender made. The head sounds great through a Marshall 4X10 bottom too.
