My old DAW is WinXP 32 and the one I hope to buy shortly will be Win7 64.
Is there any ability for SONAR to find and use 64bit VSTs when I open an old project that addresses the 32bit version of the same VST or will all the old data require a bit bridge scheme?
It seems like a dumb question... I've just sort of ignored the issue of the using bridges and waited and I am thinking maybe I can upgrade to all 64 with the few efx I use.
best regards,
mike
Hi Mike, I migrated to x64 a while back and from memory all the 32bit plugins were bitbridged automatically and worked fine (in my case anyway.) The old Cakewalk DX effects show up as missing plugins. So the answer is no there is no magic automatic find and replace for x64 plugs. HTH
