Mike. Not to be a wrench in the works. But, if those stiles aren't glued, I'd pull em off and make a proper face frame separate that can be glued and screwed. Use some biscuits in the corners.

    Shaker doors? inset?

I'm not a woodworker, but should you use buttermilk biscuits or will plain do?

Hey Mike. No man. I dig it.
    screw conformity:) Whatever works.
They're not going anywhere. Norm would be proud...
Sure saves a lot of hassle doing it that way. I don't think I could have got them square (the joints) after the fact that way though.

    Love the feet. Nice saw..

Looking forward to the doors    ............ Inset?

I really like the cabinets, nice, perfect fit, space efficient. You done a great job.

Better then I could do :)

I tried building a nice elegant entertainment cabinet but it all came out jagged, creaky and wobbly, I guess the chainsaw was blunt and the sledge hammer was not large enough. Oh well, I'll try, try again tomorrow.

Ace. I feel most musicians crave that discipline.

And to finish without that one little goof that people usually say, "well if you didn't know it
    was there you wouldn't know".....
I sure hope to get there someday. LOL

Nice job Mike. I have some pics I'll post of my project soon.

I got some advice from Mike on it. It is a lot different than what you are doing here. Involves built in cabinets around a fireplace. For strength I am supporting the members on a 2x3 subframe which will be covered by more expensive wood. I have the subframe already built and my wife took pics of it but I don't have them.

Since I am spanning almost 48" with shelving I am hiding a piece of 1x1 steel angle behind and embedded in the shelf behind the front trim and adding cleats along the back of each shelf. Ideas gotten partly from Spacey on another post.

My car is out in the weather right now because my garage is my new wood shop for awhile.
