    Rik,

Have never heard this song or of Roy Buchanan before,  guess I having been living under a rock:)   Anyway, sounds good.  Went to YouTube and found a live version from Roy.   I like your version in comparison.  He has more of a Blues/Country approach and I think yours is more Rock/Classical which suits this song very well.

    Hi Tim, you're too kind ; )

Hi  Mark,I don't think Roy ever got the recognition he deserved, he was quite well known in Germany, saw him a couple of times on german tv. There's a great version of Gary Moore doing this song with my sort of tone ; )

Certainly got some low end thump on that kick Rik, not heard the other versions but this sounds quite nice here, though I might HP that kick just a tad.

    Rik,

I have never heard this song before.  You have done a VERY nice job with it.  I am not listening on the best source, so I don't trust myself to make any mix comments.  However, it sounds pretty darn good from where I am listening.  Nice job, Bro!

    Hey, Rik,

You've got a very classy rock instrumental here with beautiful playing and a really tasty guitar lead tone!

I don't remember Roy Buchanan's version, but I always liked Gary Moore's version in the late 80's, and I'd say you really did this justice.

    Excellent work, Rik!

I'm not familiar with the original either, but this is lovely!  excellent playing.  well balanced mix.  nice all around.

I wasn't fond of the chromatic runs.  that's probably the way the song was intended, but it wasn't my favorite part.  and there were a few places they sounded out of time.  mind you - that's some fast playing!  not many people could pull that off!

just my 2cents.  I may be completely off as well!

Hi Beagle , thanks for listening, glad you like it. The chromatic parts are indeed part of the original and my timing is lousy ;)  Due to medical reasons  i have troubles moving my left arm in a smooth motion and you can certainly hear it ; )

    Riiiiiight.....

Just listened to the final final version.   I liked it.  The arrangement and mix work nicely but for me it's the guitar performance that makes it.   Yeah, I can hear a little bit of what you described in the top of that chromatic run, but for having a physical issue and still pulling this off all I can say is well done.

Rikkie, I'm glad I waited until the final cut to listen in.

I love Roy, I think he should get more props than he does.

You have done a very nice job on the guitar work, very smooth, the tone is exquisite, and I can hear the Roy influence.  I dig it.

This would be a great song to make out to, imo.  I'm not sure what the messiah would say about that, but it would be a good song for that.

Nice job. Roy's version was a bit raw around the edges with the pinch harmonics. You got the theme pretty well but I have no idea on how you might add the desperation I felt when listening to the original. Thanks for taking me back to better days.

Nice one Rik, I like that left hand vibrato thing you have going on, very expressive. Never heard the original version but I think Gary Moore not only covered it, but re-wrote it at least 3 times

I don't know the original Ric. This sounds nice but I might back off on the verb on the drums a tad.
