    The clip in the 'parent' track is referred to as the 'Comp clip' in the Ref. Guide. It appears that element might not be controllable.

    I haven't really used the Theme Editor (just because I don't want to lose the full strip colors), so I can only say that I once changed the color of the comp header via the Preference's Colors page (just enter "header" in the Search box with "All Colors" selected in the drop-down), which I think only works with the Mercury theme. But I didn't like the results with the gradations, so I changed it back to the default color.
