Better/worse or just different than slicex (if you have used that)?

I wish I had more time to play with the beta. I had the chance to design some loops for it though.

Sorry I guess I am a bit late in joining the party I haven't used RMX, this seems more like slicex but a bit more advanced - this and Alchemy and you will have all you ever need!!!

Liking the sound of some :10: loops included - what sort of loops?

    Hello all.

RMIV wouldnt work on P5. It would simply crash the host after a little use.
    heres the old thread:-
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=1084500&mpage=1&key=RMIV%2Cproject5􈱔

Can anybody confirm that they are indeed using RMV in Project5 with no problems?
( Including using the automation dropdowns. )

the program runs fine in P5. not sure on automation, never had a chance to really dive into it. school kinda gets in the way sometimes

maybe syrath can elaborate. Im hoping for a free weekend to work on some stuff. maybe I can test er out

Not so cheap for me when you factor in the choice of
    a) buying a dongle
    b) dragging my network free DAW from my internet-free music room to a room where I have a network connection so I can set up via the internet.

you can buy a 2 or 4 gig stick for under $30 now days.

once it is set up, transfer the license to your music computer. its a soft license, it doesnt need a dongle.

It CR (challenge response) right? Does it support offline activation from a different computer?

internet access OR Syncrosoft USB eLicenser for license activation

no CR. there is no dongle. unless you want one. its very painless. I was up and running within a few clicks.

I seem to recall Peter saying that the dongle was necessary if your DAW was offline (and then having some SS/Mac fanboys telling me it wouldn't be necessary to have my DAW offline if I only had a mac).

Now, if you are telling me that you have been able to copy a license from one DAW to another via memory stick, that clearly takes the edge off my objections. Too bad I still can't find room in the budget for it for a while.

To be honest I got a syncrosoft dongle with Cubase and I have to say in this regard Ive been converted. Id rather see all my licenses on a dongle instead of having to go through c & r codes everytime I reinstall.

Just my opinion of course, but then again Ive not ran into any problems with it beyond the start up time of plugins, which is remedied by keeping the LCC open.

Stupid question but, I have (cough) Cubase too - would the same dongle work form RMV? In other words is the dongle I have for cubase only good for Cubase? Or any syncrosoft stuff?

I too actually like the dongle better than the dam CR stuff. But I don't move the dongle, it only stays in my studio - it wouldnt be the case if I had a mobile setup etc.

Yes the dongle works for both.

    Ive currently got licenses for

    Eiosis AirEQ
    Eiosis E2 Transienter
    Eiosis E2 Deesser
    Rob Papen Predator
    Cubase
    RMV

    On the one syncrosoft key.

I looked long and hard at RMV, but I have (among other things) VELOCITY, Microtonic, nPULSE, Intakt, RXP, Dropzone, Dimension PR/LE, and will soon have Beatscape (assuming it isn't locked to Sonar). I have no need for a new library...

So I have the slicing/REX/sample/drum synth stuff covered over and over and over...

Why would RMV be important. Just to have a slicer/drumsampler/drum synth in one unit?

I mean RMV looks fantastic on its own, but really, what would it add for me?

How is the synth engine on it compared to RMIV (or something like Attack or even Microtonic)?

    I have Battery 3 & RMIV.

I don't think I'll be updating to RMV in the immediate future until I get a newer computer and/or larger Hard Drive.

I just don't have the space...

Plus, I'm really opposed to the dongle using up my USB slot(s). If only they made one with a pass-thru connector...

loading kits takes a little longer, and automation works great for effects,...but I was unable to set up automation for the instrument its self. not sure how yet. anyway, maybe wait until there is a demo, and try for your self.

I like it,..but there is so much to explore..

Sorry I missed this one. I had a few crashes in P5 where Project5 would disappear when trying to load the plugin. This appears to have stopped since it made full release.

    Sounds promising!

So i gather that dropping down that little automation list in the RMV track ( for assigning the automation lane ) doesnt trash P5?
You only needed to touch that drop down list in RMIV and it's restart time.

If somebody can confirm this little quirk is gone, im gonna upgrade today! Yay!!

Tried in both the pattern section and on the track lanes, both seemed to be working fine.
