I knew you 2 were up to something. Is that bass drum clipping?

    This is INCREDIBLE!!!

Not crazy on the string synth choice. The vocals are top notch...nice manipulation of the FX on them too! hmm....great work on this boys!

    NO, its distorted on purpose.
I told you somebody would comment on this, :10: - but I still like it that way.
Thanks for listening and commenting, Greg.

I haven't listened to the song yet. I can't seem to get past that model: I think I'm in love.

The model is quite distracting, isn't she?

I liked the tune. Reminded me of high school (although frankly I didn't really care for that kind of music in high school, I was more a classic/prog/hard rock guy.)

I agree that the bass drum 'clipping' is distracting (it really does sound like clipping): I'd try some generous faux tube warmth instead.

Pele wore the number 10 so it's hard not to like this. Really though sounds like a good complete song.

What you guys did at 1:43-2:10 was the highlight of the song to me.
SInging is great sounds reminiscent of something but can put my finger on it.
SOunds like a blend of a lot of great syles, beats, vocals, etc. Now your supposed to make 12 more of these and you'll have an album? I guess thats the way it works.

This is excellent. Well done guys. Orphan's voice and lyrics complement the music so well it sounds like they were made for each other. Yep, a few more tracks as good as this one and you'll have a classic album. Top stuff. Great pic too.

ps: orphan, you sound so english when you sing, i'd never have guessed you were canadian if i did'nt already know.

Orphan, are you channeling David Gahan by chance? Very English indeed as blipp points out...and very good (funny how that always seem to be?). And nice that the vocals are very forward in the mix. Assertive.

I'm afraid I have to agree with D.A. though about the kick. I find it very distracting. Not that there's anything wrong with overdriven/decimated percussion sounds but I think it draws too much attention away from the very apt vocal in this case. The piano and the strings are fantastic however. Dimension?

...and what? Canadians don't speak English??? Just kidding - it's what comes of having grown up on British bands. I have an aversion to hard sound 'r' sounds that make 'your' sound like 'yer', etc., so I try to steer clear of them. That and I sometimes use a more English sounding vowels, so I can see what you're saying. Oh well. Besides, I was born in Portugal and that's a lot closer to Britain than it is to Canada, so maybe that's part of the reason.

are you channeling David Gahan by chance?

Ummm, he's still alive - didn't know one could channel live people. Come to think of it, I don't know that one can truly channel dead people either.

At any rate, thanks very much for listening and commenting - truly appreciated.

As Andy C recently mentioned to Bradster, some people appear to be having problems getting at files at the Auditorium. If that's the case, please have a listen over at my SoundClick site (it's the top track):

I forgot about that...they changed it so that you have to log in now to view the files.
I guess they started having problems with people linking the file outside of audioshots..which in turn caused server strain, or to much traffic maybe.

Dam that ish is hot! You guys need to collab more often. I totally can see all the little goth boys and girls eating this up if you released it. Big up :10 & Orphan.

And nooooo, the kick drum is not clippling IMO.

thanks for posting the non-auditorium link. i thought i was going crazy, and it doesn't do to keep pulling up that picture at home, you know.

okay, for the song. very nice work. very professional sounding. i dug the drum rushes and the use of effects to push and pull the vocals forward and back into the mix. both of these touches kept the track very interesting throughout. i don't think the bass clips, it's just distorted, which fits.

    thanks da berzurkur @ gourdjopy
when i first sent the track orphans way...i wasnt to sure about it...but once the volcals were in place, i liked it alot more. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

who knows...maybe we will do another one.

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback gourdjopy & da berzurker - greatly appreciated. Working with me is probably a bit like pulling teeth for Sean though - he just cranks them out and I'm about as fast as DA on downers! But if he's up for the aggravation...

I have 3 songs in the pre stage as of now...just started working on the third last night.....I was thinking that one of them would work with your volcals....I will send it your way when im done...see what you think.

besides...while you are working with volcals...I am working on other projects to fill the gap.

Back from vacation. This is excellent, guys.
