hehe, you're already on there as well. but you've pointed to a page higher in the tree, so I'll fix that....

I should clarify the original post..... "read the list to see if you're on it. If you're not, give me a link and I'll add you. If the link is wrong or dead, give me a new one."

It's probably ok... the original link was the overall 'sounds' page, whereas the new link is the actual songs.... six and one half dozen the other probably

This is just so wrong. But I'll let you all slide for a while, as I just took delivery of Electronic Instruments 2XT. But don't make a frickin habit of it.

Hey agincourtdb,

Here is my first P5 song, The Common Touch. If you get a chance, let me know what you think, OK?

You're added to the list... I would start a new thread about the specific tune, you'll get more feedback that way.

Listening to the tune now.... did you program the drums or did you download a midi pattern, or use one of the ones that come with p5? You might want to add more subtle variations... as it is it sounds a little too casio-keyboard-beat. You'd be amazed... a little tweak to pattern or individual hit velocities here and there can make a lot of difference. I would strongly suggest when sequencing 'acoustic-sounding' drums, to listen to a song with a similar beat to the one you want and pay very close attention to exactly what the drummer does from bar to bar....

Nice violin solo... could be EQ'd brighter... (of course, I'm listening on laptop speakers right now, so completely ignore that last statement)

I like the arp.... not the same notes over and over again, which sets it apart from a lot of parts like this.

All in all, a great first outing.... keep up the good work!

Hey thanks for the listen and the feedback.

I agree about the violin, after listening to it over and over I think it needs a brighter eq. The drums are from several midi patterns in P5. Not being much of a drummer I am still feeling my way around. I will try doing some manual tweaking and see what I get. After I tweak then maybe I'll start a new thread on it, thanks again for the advice...
