You can... but you would need a midi merger. I use the older Lexicon MRC. Great for live or studio real time work

Sure. If you have the track set up in omni mode, it'll record whatever comes in, even if it comes from more than one source. But I'm having a hard time imagining a scenario in which someone would want or need to do that - it makes more sense to capture separate MIDI streams into separate tracks, even if recorded simultaneously.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

I intend to record the notes from one source (a digital piano) and the CC from another source (a small midi controller). Basically because my digital piano doesn't have controllers at all. So it's possible to do that in midi omni (I'll be recording the digital piano thru my sound card's midi port and the CCs from a usb midi controller)??

It should work. Why don't you just try it?

daveny5 It should work. Why don't you just try it? Cause I don't have the small midi controller yet and I wouldn't like to buy if it doesn't work... :)

bitflipper Sure. If you have the track set up in omni mode, it'll record whatever comes in . . . I stand corrected. Sorry to the OT for erroneous answer . . .
