2 drum maps tied together

I'm trying to put a click track to an existing midi track. The track already has drums on it using the drum maps.
I'm trying to create a click using drum sounds on a new midi track. When I raise the volume of the click, the other drum track also raises.

How can I separate the two?

How are you raising the volume of the track? Are you doing it on the track properties, in the MIDI controller values (#7, I think is volume), or are you trying to raise it in the Edirol properties page (or something completely different?).

If it's the Edirol - don't do that. if it's not, you'll needto tell me what you're actually doing before I can help more.

I'm trying to turn it up in track view on the purplish volume control. I also notice that on this same track, if I pan all the way left, I an still hear part of the drums in the center (both on right and left channels). This is driving me nuts.

Not sure what Edirol is, but I'm just using the normal volume deal as far as I can tell....

Ok, well, if you don't know what EDIROL is, then I have to ask what you are using for your MIDI output device? MS GS Wavetable Synth or do you have a SoundBlaster card?

The output device is 4_DM3-GS Drums to XG Drums. I'm just working on the drum track. Everything else is working correctly but this volume thing is bugging me. Also, I can pan it all the way to the right and it works, but if I pan this patter of kick drum/snare/ cymbal to the left, the cymbal stays in the middle. I need all of it to go left.

well, I don't know. but again, even the drum map has to have a MIDI OUTPUT device selected in order for you to hear it, so if you aren't using Edirol and aren't using a soundblaster card, then you must have the MS GS Wavetable synth as your MIDI output. If that's the case, then it could be something to do with that synth - I've never used it since it's not very useful.

I'm grasping for straws here, and hope that someone else can chime in and help out, if someone else knows what's going on, I'll gladly let them help you! but in the meantime, if I were you, I'd try either re-creating the tracks, or at least copying them into a new project and see what happens.

Okay, I'm not outputting to a synth. It's all within the program. The drum map deal seems to work fine on the other tunes I've done, but on this one it's being troublesome.

I redid it and the da**ned cymbal still won't pan correctly. No biggie. I'll figure something else out. thanks.
