2 problems: V-Vocal wont open and CTRL+W ??

Hi wizards
 
1)
I have a mono vocal audio track with a lot of clips. Some of the clips have an effect on - some have not.
When I select a clips and try to start V-Vocal the option is greyed out and can not be selected.
I have done this dozens of times to correct time and pitch and have never had any problems opening V-Vocal.
This goes for all other mono tracks except two and they are no different than the vocal track. I have tried to find obvious differences on the clips but can't find any...
I have tried to copy some vocal clips to the track where it is possible to open V-Vocal but it wont open on those clips..
Im stuck and havent got the imagination to try other things ( no, restart doesnt Work =;o))
 
2)
We all use CTRL + W to go to the start of the project and it has worked perfectly until today.
Now the track view screen remains on the same place - only the cursor returns to start ???
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

    1. Try doing a bounce to clip of your vocal track first - make it all one long contiguous clip
    2. Split the resultant clip into smaller sections - V-Vocal doesn't like long clips
    3. I always just use W to move the Now time to the project start, & shift + W will rewind & start playback

    Hi Bristol...

    Thanks for taking the time....

    1+2. The clips have individual effects like delay and so on. What will the bouncing do the the effects on several clips where one of them has a delay ?
    The clips are very small right now so it seems that V-Vocal doesnt like short clips either...

    3. So do I. But if you are 6 minuttes into the song and press W I'm sure your screen will follow the cursor back to start.... 
    For me it wont. I'm still looking at the project 6 minuttes into the song - but the cursor is back to start.... ?

    That's your problem straight away.

    I would remove the Fx, do your V-Vocal editing and apply the Fx afterwards.

    3 - I bet you've got your scroll lock key pressed.

    YEAHHH The Scroll Lock magic solved the second part.
    The NeXT time you come to Denmark there will be a half, slightly warm beer for you.

    Denmark is the home of Carlsberg isn't it? I'll have a nice cold one!

    Like I said Bruno, V-Vocal won't work when there's Fx in the clips.

    What sort of Fx do you have on them? If it's possible to move them to your Track Fx bin then you've solved the problem. I see you mentioned delay - that will throw VV right out of it's stride!

    I would:

    1. Clone the track
    2. Remove all clip Fx on the clone
    3. Bounce all to clips
    4. Split into shorter clips (just like your original)
    5. Do you V-Vocal work
    6. Bounce to clip again, to remove V-Vocal
    7. Using your original track as a guide, re-do your clip Fx. Not sure if you can drag/copy clip Fx but that would be perfect if you could.
