2017.05 - Clips get randomly duplicated when copying

When I copy a clip before an existing clip, some weird duplicate gets added after the existing clip. 
I've made a screengrab which hopefully helps to explain it a little bit better.

    update: I've just reverted back to 2017.04 and it has the same problems.

    If Preferences > Customization > Editing "Drag and Drop What to do with existing material" is set to "Slide Over Old to Make Room," chances are this is the problem. It is an old bug. Use one of the other options.

    Great! That seems to fix it.   I did try to change it in the paste special settings, but that didn't work. Your suggestion 'fixed' it. Many thanks!

    Ultimately I expect this option will disappear as Ripple Edit makes it redundant.
