2017.07 fatal crash at end of recording

Just installed 2017.07 and unfortunately immediately ran into a fatal crash: #1703 win update changed the sequence of MIDI devices, hence when pulling up an old template for an external synth plus an external drum computer, MIDI routing for the 2 devices was swapped. I did a fast MIDI re-routing using quick groups (select all MIDI tracks for one device, hold CTRL and change MIDI out) and tried to record 1 audio track plus 1 MIDI track - BUT when hitting stop after recording Sonar crashes.

Additional info:
  • In the rush I had changed only MIDI out routing, not MIDI in, so when hitting record no MIDI notes are actually recorded into that particular MIDI track ... Sonar draws an empty clip outline as it registers that there is MIDI input but not for the armed track ... and then it crashes when hitting stop
  • Recording only the audio track is fine.
  • When fixing the MIDI routing, so that notes are recorded, there is no crash.
  • Project file is here, crash dumps are here. Crash are probably more informative as the MIDI routing may be different when opened on a different DAW.
  • Crash is 100% reproducible with this particular project file.
  • I could not quickly reproduce this with a single MIDI track in a new project. So this may have something to do either with coming from a template, or a quick group routing change, or something else ... but I'm not doing software testing, took me long enough to figure out it this not a system problem but due to false MIDI routing (such a basic user error must not crash Sonar!)

From the dump files looks like the crash is related to the Event View.
I'm adding a ptr check for this case for a future update.
    Thanks.

Thanks for checking. That explains why I couldn't get it in the new project.
