24 bit 96 khz... where's 96 khz?

Just bought a VS 100 2nd hand and I have installed the drivers. I am running v 1.30, I haven't updated to 1.50 yet.

I am trying to set up for 3-4 channel classical guitar recording. Currently, I'm just trying to test everything out and get familiar with the device and using 2 channels. I will later add on an RNP for my SM57 pair and use a Condenser of some description on channel 1.

I use win7 64 on an i7 920 with 6GB RAM.

I would like to use it with 24 bit 96 khz to record in a DAW. I open it in the control panel and I am able to switch it from 16 bit to 24 bit, but the freq gamut is locked at 44.1khz. I don't see the option for 96 khz.

Do I need to update to driver version 2.0 to get this running? What am I missing?

    hrm.

sometimes I shake my head and wonder about myself.

I reset the sampling rate in the device, but it didn't take until I restarted the device.

    That's got it then.

    *sigh*

    Hey eschelar:

I know the feeling.  In your defense, over the years I think we've all gotten used to being able to make our audio settings from the PC keyboard.  It took me a little while to remember that I always have to make those changes on the VS 100 itself--offline, so to speak.

    How did the recording go?
