3 Simple Words

This is a song my son wrote. It's in the arrangement ideas stage I guess. The drums need to be worked out and I only have the scratch vocal. All Ideas and critiques are appreciated.

I think this has got a lot of potential.

Your on the right track. There is a part where you seem to use cymbals for a drum fill. I would change that to toms. It sounds weird to me as it is but that's purely subjective.

    Nice song!!!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Thank you for listening and your thoughts. The song is kinda raw as I'm still working things out with it. It's a bit stiff because of the drums but once I have the patterns I want then I'll actually play them.

Sweet little tune with much potential, and a really interesting rhythm guitar tone (what was that?). It moved right along melodically and rhythmically, but I was having not the easiest time picking out all the lyrics (could be the pc speakers).  Personally, not a big fan of all the "I love you's," but maybe that's just me being hard on a tune that seemed to be excelling in so many other ways.  Also, and this could be a taste thing, I would have liked to have heard a 'fatter, fuller' sound on the lead break around 2:10.  All that stuff aside, I really liked it, and think you've got a winner there with a bit more work.

This does indeed show promise and has potential. The arrangement is good too and it is a nice composition.  This obviously needs improvement in the mix and production to realise it's full potential, so will be interesting to hear the finished version.

Thank you for your input Phil. The rhythm is my Taylor 114ce acoustic going through my Fishman Loudbox with a sm57 mic. I guess it was the way I had everything set on the amp that made it sound like that. I thought it was different to so I kept it. The vocal is just a follow track so that's why the words weren't clear. The "I love You's" well, my son is 16yrs old what can I say. He'll learn soon enough. lol. I agree on the lead guitar. I have thought about re-doing it with a different sound so maybe I'll work on that after I have the drums worked out.  Thanks again.

Bob, you're off to a good start, here.  The lead guitar reminds me of the Grateful Dead, but the vocals are all yours.  I'll be looking forward to hearing this piece finished.

    All the best,
