3 long beeps at start up...

when i started my computer this morning i heard three long and loud beeps and then the vid monitor stated that there was no signal received.  i tried looking up the beep codes but all it said was that it was a keyboard problem.  i tried different keyboards, tried different usb slots, tried starting it without a keyboard or mouse plugged in and still no change.

I had my daw built by Sonica Labs. I bought it about three years ago.  I am not tech savy so i wouldnt know anything about the interior hardware. i think it has mainly asus gear but wouldnt know the model of each component.  any help would be greatly appreciated.  thanks

Sonica Elite quade core, FireFace800, Sonar 7producer, oxygen61, rokit5 monitors.

Usually when it beeps it's not getting past the bios.

It's been a long time since I thought about this stuff.

Try pressing F8 repeatedly after you press power to see if you can get to safe mode.

Hope fully some will come along with better advice.

    best regards,

Could be ram. Either not seated properly or a stick went bad. Could be something else for that matter, but check your ram to make sure it's ok.

If you've got the manual for your MOBO anywhere, it should contain a list of all the diagnostic beeps that you hear on POST.

POST = Power On Self Test

All good advice. The beep codes vary from BIOS to BIOS so you need to find out which BIOS - AMI, Award, Phoenix etc. and then search the codes.

when i started my computer this morning i heard three long and loud beeps and then the vid monitor stated that there was no signal received.

Either a video or RAM problem

Reseat all RAM sticks and reseat the video card
Note that the components don't have to appear to be out of slot to need reseated.
Take them fully out of slot... and then place them back.

Reboot and see if the machine starts as normal.

If not, take out all RAM sticks... and then place a single stick of RAM in the slot furthest from the CPU.
    Try booting the machine.
If it fails again, replace the single stick of RAM with one of the others (still in the slot furthest from the CPU).
If the machine effectively boots with a single stick of RAM, you probably have a defective stick.
It's just a matter of figuring out which one is defective... and replacing it.
If the machine won't boot normally with any of the single RAM sticks, the issue is likely the video card.
Swap out the video card... and see if the machine boots as normal.

At times some corrosion or dust will work it's way into those contacts... so pulling the cards/memory sticks and reseating them as Jim says will sometimes work if the card/stick is OK....
