I wonder if this is really a temporary price reduction, or if the vendor is still experimenting to find an effective price point.

It's a very nice-sounding library, but I'm guessing this relatively-new product hasn't exactly been flying off the shelf at $279 ($249 when originally released). In that bracket you're competing against go-to libraries of real instruments, not sampled synthesizers.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I don't know Bit - I think Euphoria hangs with bigger dogs... and of course they are all wildly different, so comparisons are a bit tricky...

HybridTwo Project Alpha and Project Beta are $200 each.
    Impact Soundworks Juggernaut is $150
8Dio has half a dozen hybrid libraries ranging from $250 to $300
Heaviocity Evolve is $200 and Damage is $300

At $200 Euphoria looks like a bargain, but even at full price I think it is a viable candidate for those looking for a "hybrid" scoring tool.

Which brings us to the question "why buy a hybrid scoring tool?"

I can think of two compelling reasons:

First, if you are busy, and always facing down deadlines any of these libraries can speed up your process. I happen to enjoy building sounds, but I'd love to be busy enough that I couldn't always justify the time<G>!

Second, sometimes these developers have access to synthesizers, or even just sounds, that I don't. So any of these libraries will broaden my pallet.

Full disclosure - I have only purchased Evolve Mutations so far, but I find that I will use it, if only for spicing things up, much more often than I expected. So I will be adding to my collection, and the top three candidates (at least as of today<G>) are Project Alpha, Juggernaut, and yes, Euphoria.

    Time will tell...
