30's

Well, I am "into" my 30's now (birthday today). Not so far that I get 40 jokes yet, but far enough that I feel old. No wife, no kids yet... Just a decent job, cool friends, some music stuff and a sister in California who's kids started a band... All I have to say is ho, hum..sorry, I mean "ho, hum"... Any ideas for excitement?

Oh to be thirty again. Wait till you're 40 kid, before you get misty about it. By the time you hit 50 you won't care anymore.
Time is an avalanche, you're still on top.

True excitement happens unbidden. Forget excitement. Start learning to slow down now.

My 30's zipped by so fast I barely remember them. It was all about work, work, work.

Then I hit 40 and things really began to accelerate.

I just recently hit my 50's, and then all of a sudden - wham! - I'm 57! Whoa, when did that happen?

Inside every old dude is a young man thinking "jeez, when did that happen?"

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Nothing "just" about any of that, all good stuff (well, can your sister's kids play??) Trust me, from 20 odd years farther down the road, things will change, and change again, more times in your life than you can conceive of - things didn't start getting interesting for me (in a long term kinda way) until I was 10-12 years older than you are now. Yer just gettin' started, sonny.......

Enjoy the ride - and be VERY careful what you wish for.

I'm 55 this year and musically, I seem to be at the peak of my creative powers, but sadly, the fingers are starting to slow down and cramp up with alarming regularity.

    Long live Midi!!!!!!

Daum!.....what a bunch of old farts on this board! LOL!!!

Hell, I turn 55 in July....and still ROCKIN'! - Most days I feel 55. But, when I pick up my Les Paul I'm 18 again and again and again......all over!

Don't ever slow down and just keep jammin'!!!

When I was about 18 years old, I was working with this old guy that was really cool. There was 2 pieces of advice he gave me that I have always lived by.

    1. There will be 3 women in your life - the one that loves you, the one that you love, and the one you'll marry. (unbelievable how accurate he was - lol)

    2. What ever you do in life, give it all you got - and Go Like The Guns Of Hell!!!!

(...and that's what I named my band - "The Guns Of Hell")

...and remember - FORWARD - never STRAIGHT!

    Happy Birthday!

If it is your birthday, you really need
    Rent-a-midget

I can hook you up with a 3' tall Angelina Jolie look alike, except for the height. And the proportions are off since she is only 60% of AJ's height but 100% of things in every other direction.

    Or
    Go see a performance by
Mini Kiss - a 3' tall KISS tribute band.

There is a bar in town that has Midget Tossing - not as bad as it sounds - they have velcro walls and velcro suits. Not my style though.
    Ummmm
I am not sure what else to tell you other than birthdays always go better with midgets. I love the wee people. Be careful though, they get drunk on much less than you and me.

    Happy Birthday To You
    Happy Birthday To You
    Happy Birthday Gregggggggggg
Get a Midget and have fun.

Or go read a Tolstoy novel.

    Many Happy Returns Greg...

Hey if I hang around all you whippersnappers will that make me cool and relevant with the kids again?

That would be a REALLY great achievement, as I've never been either cool or relevant...

btw Space must be really fond of you to fix you up with Minigelina as even the world's richest business magnates can't get hold of her without booking 18 months in advance. She's great fun though I asked her once to pass the salt, she just sneered back "What do you think I am a radio?". I still haven't stopped laughing at that one, except for a fortnight back in Sept '07 when I had a bout of hiccups...

I can hook you up with a 3' tall Angelina Jolie look alike, except for the height.

edit: OK I exaggerated a bit, it was only 12 days not a fortnight, it felt more like 17 weeks 3 days 7 hours and 28 minutes though.

Jon do you have about 15 cats , dogs where ya live... ? hehe

I used to get called Norman by a mates sister.. as I used to look a fair bit like Norman Cook (fat boy slim) and I make music

although... even I gotta admit having Jonny Ball as a father in law is pretty cool.. AND he could help ya kids with their maths homework
(not a big fan of Zoe though)
