3/15 X1b Update - Am I Missing Something?
Am I reading the list wrong? The only things that seem ot be of 3/15 update are: asio sample rate issues resolved and a side chaining issue... Are they adding items burried within what I was considering as older posts? Are there more issues dealt with in that list? Thanks... Keni

NO I think that's it. I guess if it's close to release that's to be expected.

I imagined all the clamoring that's been going on about not releasing the weekly updates, even though it hasn't been a full week yet, made them just post something. I can't see how them posting that somethings been fixed is a bad thing. I welcome each and every one.

I've heard from a very good source that the main hold up now is that they're still trying to decide which X1b splash screen to include. They've narrowed it down to 3, but it could take weeks.

I think Cake's release date will be Friday the 18th..probably a big after-work party planned for the bakers. We get to spend the weekend downloading and installing. Good timing since Scott's SONAR POWER X1 is shipping from Amazon.

UnderTow Is there a perfect time? If anyone is worried, they don't have to install on a Friday night, with a little self-control they can wait I'm pretty sure support is also gone in the evenings, so do they only release in the morning so they can field calls? What about those that download late afternoon and install at 7:00PM? No support until the next day for them either. What about those over the pond? The phones are rarely open for them at the right times. For many users, weekends are the time to play - and I think many would like the chance to give X1b a try. Anyone doing mission critical work will install when 'they' are ready, or even drop it on a test machine first. Those that blindly update into a critical project should understand the risks, and can't blame anyone else for their choice. Cake should just release it when it is ready, and not worry about when their "phones" will be open! Just my opinion!

Cake should just release it when it is ready, and not worry about when their "phones" will be open! Just my opinion! When I was still full time in IT it was common practise NOT to roll-out stuff on Friday. Not just at the company I worked at but anywhere. (And I still hear this from people working in IT including at some of the biggest companies in the world). It is standard procedure for good reason. If Cakewalk think they know better than what is perceived as common sense in the IT industry... You can write all you write above but the reality is that people will download, will install and some people will have problems. Then of course, rightfully or not, people will complain on the forum and I am not sure Cakewalk should really be allowing the chance of any negative press with this release. In other words, I think it would be unwise both from a support point of view and from a marketing point of view. And don't forget that I only mention this because I remember Cakewalk doing this in the past and the ensuing angry posts on the forum when things didn't go exactly as some users expected. This has happened before! UnderTow
