32nd notes
Hmmm. I'm looking at the staff, and I can see where I wrote in 32nd notes in previous measures. But now I can't select it. It's grayed out. I've tried clicking it, changing the snap-to grid (I can change that to 32nd, but it doesn't allow me to select the note). Tried using the PC keyboard shortcut '3'. No dice. Any ideas? I tried changing the 16th note value to 1/2 it's normal value, and that does give me a 32nd note duration, but with the grid on, I can't place them in closer proximity than 2 16th notes. A conundrum. Did you try changing the grid to 64th notes? I usually set for 1/2 the value of my shortest notes, not sure if that would change anything, just something I have been doing since day one. Later Albert

Hey, Greg go to OPTIONS>PROJECT>MIDI (I think that's the path) and make sure your TICKS PER QUARTER NOTE = 960 then see if you can't select 32nd notes in staff.

All is well now. It was the 'Display Resolution' set to 16th note. I had to resort to reading the help files (several times) on entering notes in the staff view. I was trying to change the wrong thing, which won't work. Thanks for trying to help, guys. Greg

I was trying to change the wrong thing, which won't work. Dontcha just hate that. Computers are really very stupid, and they have a nasty habit of doing exactly what they are told. I've made the same mistake, maybe once. OK maybe a couple hundred times. As a last resort, the help files....help. You gotta love this stuff.
