+3.3v in bios says fail?

damn i think my power supply on my daw went to hell, it wont boot it just goes through all the bios crap and then it shows windows is loading screen and it goes to a blue screen then it shuts off and starts over. i opened up bios and checked pc health and it said +3.3v fail. ive been wondering why my usb ports have been acting up lately like not recognizing stuff i plug in and things like that i think my power supply went to heck at least thats what i hope it is.
anyone one else had this problem i wasnt overclocking at all everything was stock set up.
my specs are below in my signature.one more thing i did have my daughters ipod plugged in charging with the pc on and when i went in the room to look at it there was a blue screen and it wouldnt do anything so i rebooted and it started that crazy stuff i mentioned above. any ideas would be great thinks guys. tim

I've had a number of psu's go bad in my time...some of them right out of the box duds too...but also after some time. Most recently I had my gfx card go bad...but that's another story.

If you have another psu on hand, try it out. If it ends up being a psu problem then I can say from my point of view that buying the biggest beast of a one you can afford next time is where it's at.

    hi montezuma
i had this pc built from the same guy that always builds my pc.
he puts a 3 year warranty on the pc no questions asked and ive had less than 7 months now so im gonna drop it off this morning and have him figure it out, i do have a old psu laying around but its a very small one and i don't think it would boot my machine up very well either...
im not as mad as i was last night when it happened because i know Gigabitz where i had it built will take care of it.
anyway thanks for the advice. Tim

+3.3v? Sounds like your mobo's battery needs to be replaced. The battery looks like one of those small, round watch batteries. Check that before you replace the PS.

well he tested the psu and its not that,
so he stuck a Linux disk in and booted form the disk and the damn thing booted,
he was using Linuxes system test to test my ram when i had to leave so it sounds like i will be doing a fresh load of windows because somehow it got messed up.
its hard being home without my daw lol, my wife went away for the weekend and this woulda been one of those weekends where i could have caught up all that work i have stacked up in front of my daw lol. tim

I've had a couple of glitches with my Dell lappy running Vista, one was quite frightful...I had to use a rescue disk to boot up (Still don't know what happened) but once it booted, I restored to a previous "known good date" and life was joyful again...

Lesson: keep a rescue disk on hand.

    Hey guys..
I have had this error.. +3.3V Fail and it was fixed after I installed a new power supply. It fixed it and now I am able to install a new windows version after the first one was destroyed by the repeated restarts attacks it used to have..
    Thanks a lot..
