What? Is this the fourth thread you've started about buying new monitors?

Go to a big store, bring music on cd (not mp3's) that you are accustomed to and know well, use your ears!

    It could be

I have no big store I can go to with ease so I am trying to gather as much info as I can at the momment before jumping in and buying

I live an over an hour and a half from my nearest music shop and they dont stock a lot of monitors so there isnt a lot to try.

I am interested to see what others would buy I dont know much about anything other than the Mackies or the KRKs.

Interested to see what others would buy in that price range

Well search for what you have available in that price range and post the options, maybe you might get a better response if you ask "what do you think about XYZ, what do you think about YDR", etc.
IMHO, choosing between Mackie's or KRK's, you really can't go wrong between those two or Yamaha HS80's.
