$39 CA-2A T-Type Leveling Amplifier [Expired]

Heads up!
Cakewalk has this on special offer. I've been thinking about getting this plug-in for a while now, at $39 it was impossible to resist.
Update: The sale appears to be over now.

If you own PC-2A Leveler (which I do) you can purchase the CA-2A Leveling Amplifier for $9.99 (which I did).

It's the only compressor I use any more on vocals and bass. For whatever reason, nothing else sounds as good.

I got it for $9.99. Couldn't resist such an awesome deal but just one thing... Does the CA2A replace the PC2A? I no longer have it.

Yes, the CA2A replaces the PC2A. The CA2A installer renames the PC2A dll so that it is no longer available to SONAR.

I too recommend the CA2A very highly. Certainly a worthwhile step up from the previous PC2A.

I'd love to get emails from Cakewalk! I re-subscribed a while ago as they dried up and gave two email addresses but it is now obvious that they are ignored .
Anyhoo, got the new toy and a quick play reveals it seems to work quite nicely so thanks to Cakewalk for a sensible price .
A word to the wise: use a credit card rather than PayPal if you buy on the weekend if you want the codes to appear in your account (going by my recent purchasing experiences).

Grum.

Agreed! Like Craig A. states above, I use it on the Vocals and the bass. But also with a few others that it sounds good on. Get it you will defiantly like it!

I have been using the PC-76 U-type for vocals. Is the CA-2T a big enough improvement for $39? Never got the PC-2A so I don't have that comparison point...Also have the PC-4K, but haven't found it that useful.

- DSI OB-6 (love child of a Prophet and an Oberheim)

I personally feel the CA2A works better on vocals, yes. I think it's "more common" too but I don't know what you will like. They're entirely different types of compressors.

Okay, I already have PC-2A. What is the benefit of me getting the CA-2A, besides having it as a regular VST plugin?

Yep! Good technique. I frequently find myself tossing on a limiter (if not the PCCL) or a transparent comp to tame these types of sounds. Does the CA-2A work much better? I wish I could demo it again.
