'Differences' - my first colab with Bapu

Fantastic song. Great vocal delivery, a bit Robert Wyatt, a bit Ian Broudie. Love the production too, loads of depth and atmosphere.

Hey Daryl The structure/chord progression of this piece is just awesome. Excellent build up and space created with arrangement and instrument choice. Vocals and harmonies are great delivering that catchy hook. At 0:54 I'm diggin the bells. MIx sounds full and clean on my end. If I had to nit, the lead vocal kinda has a radio effect that makes the vocal sound muffled and not as clear. IMO I can see why you have it but would like to hear the LV with less of it. I think it would make the vocals sit better with the rest of the mix. On my 4th listen and WOW what a great job you have done with everything. KUDOS my friend! Kev

Daryl, you and Ed have cooked up something that I can sink my teeth into. The song builds up as it goes along, and by the end of it, it keeps playing in my head which makes it quite memorable. I got used to the vocal f/x as it went along, and it adds an interesting flavor to the overall mix. I will keep coming back to this from time to time. Bravo.

Ahh Love and regret... It's a natural progression isn't it? If winter comes, can spring be far behind? A natural progression. And part of the human condition I fear. We long for relationships, with all of their brain chemicals, desire, and then separation anxiety turns to just plain "anxiety..." And like Meatloaf, we're praying for the end of time... And you can't start over :-( You have to start anew... And the concept of starting over "again" I've written about that too :-) We're all morons (most of us anyway) when it comes to relationships. One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result... I really enjoyed your song, because I could relate to it among other reasons. Great vocal performance/delivery. Wonderful production and performances. The recording is crisp.

I really really love the mood of this song. Vocal delivery is exquisitely English, as is the arrangement.
For some reason, the tambourine in the chorus threw me...it is perfectly in time, but it seems out of place for a sad and wistful tune...wish I could say why.

Really liked it. Nice melody and lyrics. Great job on the production and arrangement. The HH on the right is abit distracting. Maybe turn it down just a bit.

Totally agree with Bapu's Lovely Lady. This is a wonderful song. I don't know about the long-nosed pliers (wince) but I reckon your voice is outstanding; you give such emotion to this song and with such power that the lyrics have devastating impact. Any quality film director would beg to have this song on their film.

This is great - loved it ! Reminded me a lot of "Breathe" by Depeche Mode - always loved that tune. Plenty of Lightning Seeds influence too, always a good thing for me. Bapu sounding cool too - who'da thunk it ?

Great song, gentlemen. Very cool chord changes/melody lines, excellent production/mix (on my cheap headphones) and vocal performance.
Love the tremolo guitar and that glockenspiel (or whatever it is) sound.
Sounds fantastic.

This has Moody Blues feel, if the orchesrtal sounds were a little more orchestral, it would be a very good fit.
I like the arrangement, good lyrics, good vox. I thought guitar tone could use a little warmth, but that's my only crit.

Janet - thanks so much - Bapu was responsible for a large amount of the Chorus - lyric and tune. I had the verses and the music for the choruses done but couldn't come up with anything decent.
I'm indebted to him for that and his great bass playing on this one.
