'Last Kiss' - Joe Bonamassa

Love this..the interplay between Joe and Derek Sherinian (I think?) at the end is wonderful.

Great dynamics there as well.  I might have to have a "Joe" day in the near future...  I don't have this concert on DVD, but I've got the double-album among my stash.

My other favorite blues guitarist, Walter Trout, has been recovering very well after finally getting a liver transplant in May.  A few days ago his wife Marie posted that the Hep. C that destroyed his old liver was officially gone from his body and he's getting much stronger. His new album is out and a couple of the pictures of him inside don't even look like him even though they look much better than what he became at the end... The first song is called "Wastin' Away" which, along with a few others like Bottom of the River is, I guess how a blues guitarist handles that kind of situation!  To tie this all up together, the booklet has a couple of pages of ads with one full of other Walter albums and the other is the Joe Bonamassa album you just played a selection from - heh.

Here's a jam with a great "duel" between both of them back when Walter was MUCH larger.

Just stumbled on this video of Joe at 13.  He definitely had it even back then!  Playing clubs at 9??!  Damn...

Funny how things move along.  This thread got me started with Joe but lead me to Walter, back to Joe, then briefly off to think about Eric, Stevie and Peter Green only to land me on Johnny Winters - someone who I really didn't know much about.  Now that he's the "Late" Johnny Winters, I feel the need to track down some of his music and listen to it!

I had a similar thing happen after Gary Moore passed away.  I'm not sure if it's a good thing that I only begin listening to someone's music after they've died, or if it just gets me excited knowing that there's so much good stuff out there that I won't run out of excellent music to listen to!

He does come across well in interviews, and his voice is getting better and better I think. He gives away free tracks too!

I got a good chuckle on some of the comments, from that video of him when he was 13, that said he wouldn't amount to much as he got older.  WRONG!

IIRC he was quite the mugger when he were a lad.
