'Magyar Wolf'

Hey all, been a while since I did anything 'solo', but here's a fresh new version of an instrumental I did a year or so ago. I wrote it for a Hungarian friend who likes to listen to music while she does kick-box exercises. It didn't really fit that bill, but she liked it anyway.

Ed Kocol (Bapu to you) played bass, I did the rest.

I love the song!  You really hit on the "Big Sky", full cinematic sound on this.  Great interplay between the two lead riffs (around 1:57).

Kudos to Bapu too!

Very nice indeed!!

Thanks Kenny!  It was nice to finally get this out there. I lost the original project on a dead HD a year ago.

Nice groove, nice tune, and the mix parts all sync together very well Way to rescue it from the dead, good choice! And kudos to Ghandi on the bazz, the bass part fits very well. It's all in interconnecting puzzle and your pieces all fit, with none left over.

cheers,

This has a really good sound.  I like the chiming guitar. Cool ending too.   Would love to hear the bass and bottom end a little more focused and punchy but that's MO.

Once again I could have mistaken the beginning of one of your tunes as being Eric Johnson....a very good thing.  Once you got going though I knew it was you....also a very good thing.

I have a question.  On the first electric lead, do you just have your amp/eq settings scooped or do you use a cocked wah pedal to get that tone?  Very nice stuff either way.

Nice tune, great mix!

Hi Tony, thanks very much, I take that a massive compliment.

All guitars were my Les Paul, the first distorted lead part in the mid section was the neck pick-up, tone rolled off about halfway, through a patch on my new Digitech RP-55 which has just a touch of phaser, then straight into the Focusrite interface, with a high pass filter applied in Sonar.

Honestly Dan,when I first got it, I didn't like it at all. I was so used to the Boss COSM FX and amp sims I'd been using for years that it didn't sound right. Kenny Wilson advised me to dig deeper into it and 'show it who's boss' (his words )...he was right of course.
