'Mist Over Llyn-Dhu'

Latest track from my 'Weirdstone' project. Deliberately short (2 mins 20 secs) because it will eventually lead into another tune.

Mist Over Llyn-Dhu

(first dabblings with an E-Bow on this one )

Is that a Bodhran? This is interesting, but a deliberately 2:20 doesn't really develop? I understand it will be an interlude. I may pull that shaker back a bit.

This is really nice James.  The percussion you use is just perfect.

    Love the way it develops.

The E-Bow sounds great. What is it like to use?

    Nice work James.

Thanks John. E-Bow is a tricky beast, but lots of fun. Haven't got the hang of changing strings without extraneous noises yet.

Nicely done, james.  I keep expecting to hear your guitars, etc.  You have eally moved on a different path and I respect that a bunch.  It shows a great appreciation for music.  I think I'm too old to start something new.  Though Mark and my music does have quite a variation of genres, I would really like to move into a bit of this style.  I have to break out my keyboard ang get off my lazy...... well !:-)

    Hi James,

This is really nice, James. Very soothing, especially the e-bow parts...man, someone gave me one of those things 15-20 years ago and I've never bothered to try it  It's around here somewhere...I may have to try and dig it out.

Anyway, back to your song...beautiful and a little sad. I like the percussion, too...understated and tasteful, very nice.

Looking forward to hearing where this goes.

Some really nice progressions and textures you've got there.  Love the lead guitar tone and melody when that comes in.  The tune just builds and builds.  Very nice job!

Well done. I really like this. Much better mix than the last (I still don't get that, but anyway). Waaaaay to short.

Thanks very much Warren, that's kind of you. There are actually about 6 or 7 guitar tracks in this, but I tend to go for 'texture' guitar sounds because I'm not much of a player really.

Hi Gary, really pleased you like this. 'Beautiful and a little sad' is exactly what I was striving for. It's a short, bittersweet chapter in the book, so I'm really glad it came across like that.

    Very nice work James...
Beautiful imagery... love the Bass & the sound of the Guitars...

Something's not lining up just right Timing wise... I think it's the bongo or whatever it is... something doesn't feel quite right...
frankly, I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it...

I also had an e-bow that someone gave me, or left in the studio, but I lost track of it years ago... very effective...

Thanks Frank! The percussion is a loop with a djembe and a couple of other exotic things. Timing feels right to me though *shrugs*.
