'St Mary's Clyffe'
Hi all, Here's the first mix of a new track, 'St Mary's Clyffe' from my 'Weirdstone' project; https://app.box.com/s/h6lflhsxj23ivtlljbmq Once again, many thanks to Ed Kocol (Bapu) for providing bass, everything else by me. Glad to get any comments and suggestions, thanks!

Sounds good so far James and Bapu did a nice job on the bass. Being mix #1 I'll wait to see where the next stage of this piece goes before commenting. I do, however, like the sound of the guitar so far. Everything seems to becoming along just fine. Peace and Blessings, John

Really liked that! I kept waiting for "real" drums to kick in (as opposed to brushes or whatever you had laying to mellow groove down) Maybe an occasional medium snare hit during the chorus of the first part, then when the dirty guitar comes in? Otherwise super groovy. Awesome clean guitar tones.

hey james great moody piece. perfect airy production as ever. some of the bass/guitar runs seem a bit off tempo from around 2'05. again when the electric guitar comes in, the whole thing is a bit shaky timing wise. anyhow. love the music.

Soft & Mellow, drifty but kept interest throughout with evolving instruments and melodic patterns. Like sven said, personally too I wanted some hard drum hits to come out,@2:15 they are too soft I reckon. Regards, Cian

A nice, dreamy tune. The bass (?) is sometimes a little off beat, or is it the drums? Otherwise good job on the recording.

Thanks a lot Sven That's a cajon loop doing the 'slippery' rhythm. I must get a real one, they're tons of fun to play.

Very nice number indeed! I might agree a bit with the comments above concerning the drums -- especially when the more up-tempo parts kick in. However, having said that, this piece really stands well on its own. Nice one!

Very nice piece of music showing both of your musician and writing skills. I found with the playback from box.com the bass was a little forward in someplaces, however I downloaded it, (that means I listend twice), and found that played back much more ballanced. Thanks for sharing PS Was that really Ed playing bass, I mean it was actually quite good
