4 Midi tracks and 1 TTS-1...HOW ??

I have imported 4 midi tracks. I want to point all 4 tracks at 1 TTS-1. How do I set this up ? This is driving me nuts, I don't want 4 TTS-1's running. I want the TTS-1 to play 4 midi channels at once. Thanks

Good luck on this one. I too have had a hell of a time figuring this out. However I think it is probably deceptively simple. I know this doesnt help but someone should probably come along and help you out. I believe the answer lies in right clicking on your track and inserting a layer, but after that I dont know how you get each layer to play a different channel on the TTS.

I haven't tried it with the TTS-1. Lixi, but just right-click on your track/synth and select Create Layer. Do this twice more for four channels [the "main" Track 1 plus Track Layers 1.1, 1.2. and 1.3]. The click on each track and layer, and change the Send To in the Track Inspector [for each "layer"] from None to [MIDI] Chan 1-4 or whatever, up to Chan 16. That'll get you four layers; each on a different MIDI channel.

Edit: Yeah, it came in S4. I never used it; you see, I've got this phobia for GM synths ...

That did it !! Thanks Mr. Bee...sorta seems like a lot of extra work...but oh well (sigh)

Me too..but they make great sketch pads, for quick ideas, and chord "speriments". Plus they are LOW overhead in the "CPU Game". Thanks for all your help.......now I just have to figure out why my Syex dumps at the header of the sequence are not getting through

Are you trying to sneak it in with a .mid file? I don't know if I tried that yet. The Bakers tell me that Project5 in any of its incarnations doesn't support sysex in any manner, but I have my doubts.

I think that the pattern file format [.ptn] has the potential in there somewhere, even if it's lying dormant. There's 'hidden' channel aftertouch messages, and program changes are written in to a pattern in some strange format. I just can't get at them. So ... the official word is that you can't use sysex. Now how to we break that rule?

    Hi Lixi,

I'm not sure if this will help, but Craig Anderton has written an article in this month's Sound on Sound (http://www.soundonsound.com/) on using the TTS1. I have not had a chance to read the article myself, but check it out. It may have the answer you are looking for. (I usually find the magazine in the home audio and video section of bookstores or Tower Records.)

    Take care,
