45+ tracks in Kingston, full blown usage example
I just finished (at 3AM last night) my Interstellar theme remix. Took a lot of crash/reboots due to some major freezing/bounce crashes, but other then the bounce crashes, things went really smooth. This was my biggest sequence ever (since starting producing back in ~92) at 48 tracks, ~35 with automation. - Main room Reverb - aux bus brought to you by Spaces convolution (which I got cheap on the black Friday sale).
- Compression - Pro Channel CA-2A and sonitus compressor
- Boutique Compression - Vintage Warmer 2 on Master Bus
- Tape Warmth - Pro Channel tape Sim
- Console - Pro Channel Type A-Type (all channels and busses)
- Synths - Omnisphere 2, Massive, Arturia Jupiter 8v
- Strings - EastWest Hollywood Strings (Silver), IK Multimedia Philharmonik, UVI Orchestral
- Organs - Hauptwerk, Kontakt Leeds Organ, Kontakt Aria Organ.
- Percussion - Kontakt Apocolypse, Kontakt CYMBAL ROLLS, and UVI Orchestral
- Sound Effects - Real recordings of numbers stations broadcast from short wave radio
- Filters - Frohmage, ohm force Quad Frohmage
- EQ - Pro Channel
- Delays - TAL-Dub, PSP Echo
- Bass - Hauptwerk Organ, Omnisphere 2, Novation Bass station 2
Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/slumbermachine/interstellar-numbers

If you are seeing crashes on bounce it could be that a plugin or instrument can't be fast bounced. Try real time bounce in that case.

The crashes are intermittent. Sometimes I can fast freeze or bounce, sometimes I can't. Sometimes slow bounce or freeze will crash, sometimes just unfreezing a track will crash it, so I really am not sure where it's occurring. Usually it happens with Omnisphere 2, but sometimes I see it with Kontakt, or play also. Really not something I can nail down yet.

Thanks! The original theme is just begging for some prog rock or prog trance treatment. I aimed to hit those with still keeping the "slumber" themes. I was very tempted to do a upward key change and tempo rise, but figured it would take me away from my sound too much.

Since there were crashes, were there any crash dumps created? Did Fault Reporter appear and did you report them? We built that into the app to help stability continuously improve. However, if it isn't reported, we can't act on it except by trying to blindly fix something we might think is going on based on descriptions. Much better to have the actual crash dump since it will usually point to where the crash occurred. Cool to do something of that scale. SONAR can definitely cut it, we have guys that do scoring using template projects with 300+ tracks and many instances of various synths for orchestral libraries, etc. in order to cover full orchestrations. Used to have to run multiple machines to do things of that scale, now it can be done on one box, good times. Thanks! Keith
