hey Frank, great playing as ever. love the sax/clarinet solo. mix is nice and airy, maybe in the solo bit you'd wanna pull the guitar back a little, or at least automate some EQ to take some of those high-mids out. also not feeling the kick sound. but otherwise a fantastic little gem!

This message has been recorded by the NSA and you have been flagged for an audit by the IRS. If you're doing any farming down there in LA, expect a visit from the EPA, and OSHA will inspect your setup at your next live gig to make sure it's a safe work environment.

Welcome to Ameritopia Comrade!

But don't worry, it's not a conspiracy? That would be crazy... Only coincidence...

An absolutely beautiful rendition of this song Frank!!!!  The US (America) is still beautiful and would be even better if we could just learn to get along with each other.  I agree with Malcolm, the performance is perfection.

"would be even better if we could just learn to get along with each other" You're right Freddy, what's a few hundred million wire taps and audits between friends? That's it, I'm hosting my own occupy movement. Occupy my pants! (not you Fred) Only a very exclusive list of protesters will be allowed to participate (please enclose recent photo.)

I'm still a sucker for a good patriotic song though, I've been thinking about doing an acapella version of the Anthem.

Frank, that's a great rendition and just in time for the 4th.  It's always a joy to hear your music.  My only suggestion would be to beef up the sax, but if not, then this stands on its own anyway.  Hope you have a great and productive summer.

All the best,
Lynn

Nice one Frank. Gotta say though, the guit track seems to drag to me. Like you just learned it and weren't sure of it, or you tracked it to a click and then laid the bed, or you were just tired (or depressed). Hard to be uplifted by the state of this country at the moment I guess.

Maybe it's cause I'm on the laptop (it was made in China).
All that said, I still liked it......

edit: Ok, re-listened and I take it all back... Above comment was pre re-mix.
I think you changed the guit on the 6/12 remix. Sounds great.
Ya know, it would all be laughable if it wasn't so sad how the words of this great anthem have no meaning in today's society.

Thanks Clint, Bobby, and Reboagni for the nice words...
Darren... I tried out your suggestions on this last overall mix, but was not happy with the result...
I did filter out some of the mids on the guitars and I think that was an improvement... Thanks for the help...
After listening again this morning, I think the guitars may be a little loud... and the soprano-sax could maybe come up a bit... Thanks for that Lynn...
Also, I agree with Timbo... I was, "just learning the guitar parts", and they are dragging here & there... (grin;-) so maybe I should re-play them...  Thanks Tim...

love the guitar sound.....

all the performances are great!

mixwise, give that sax solo the same level you gave the opening guitar, because it feels like the level drops off precipitously when the sax comes in.

it's a touchy-feely thing

Frank,

Beautiful rendition.   The sax is buried too deep in the mix though, it sounds mufffled and very low in the mix.  Guitar sounds amazing...
