I'm not going to be critical of the content as it's all very good high quality as you would expect from fxpansion.
If you're using it with BFD2 then you have the room, overhead and ambient channels but you don't get the ambient channel with BFD Eco.
The truth is I've not used it a lot in the 2 years I've had it but that's because I have a band now and am spending more time playing than recording. One of the things I really wanted was a flexatone and I love the one that comes with it but there's so much stuff included that
I may never use.
I suggested at the time to fxpansion that it would have great to have had a pick & mix option where you could just choose which pieces you wanted and get them at a much reduced cost but the answer I got was that they would have ran out of licences which I guess makes sense.
It was an extravagance on my part as I don't even use a lot of percussion in my music but I just wanted to have that option and
I do like percussion.
Anyway, at that price it has to be good value but I equate value with usage so for me it was a bit over the top but if you use
a lot of percussion in your music then it's a bargain.
You can audition all the kit pieces here
Percussion Kit Pieces You can also hear me using the flexatone in this work in progress called
8 Bit Blues It's the first track.
As the title suggests it's mostly using the 8 bit expansion pack which I think is superb but the flexatone is from the percussion kit.
