5400 BU Drive - does speed matter???

I picked up a 5400 2TB Seagate green drive for $124 at Frye's Electronics.  I was needing a quick BU solution for both Sample & OS drives (dif drives :) that I could store elsewhere. I'm not worried about how quickly I can BU but it did get me to wondering, aside from slower BUs, are there other considerations?

In putting together a home server I'm wondering if these will work fine for BUs - (not streaming media).

Thoughts/warnings/suggestions??

As a backup unit only... yes it's ok. As a backup unit only in a server... yes. You have no other options available to you aside the backup one. And "Green" drives which power down to save energy is probably the worse type of HD one could buy for a DAW. But taking into consideration the current HD landscape price-wise and for the rest of the year, the price looks great.

Thanks Alegria - yep, it's backup only. Appreciate the affirmation!
