6 core Mac Pros due next Tuesday?
I know there's a few Mac users on here so I thought I'd pass along the good news: hexacore (aka 6 core) mac Pro desktops due next Tuesday. Looks like those'll be available to the general public in finished machines before pc users will see them. Here's a pair of links, one to the MacRumors site where I first saw the news and a second to the ZDNet site:
http://forums.macrumors.c./showthread.php?t=876397
http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=7641
No news on MacBookPro laptops at this time.
Edit for additional: I know Seth mentioned something about using a 6 core at a game developer's conference next week but gave no more info on the machine or who's supplying it (it's a loaner to him apparently).

If you go to the ADK site (
http://www.adkproaudio.com)
and look for the configuration page for their Quad Extreme, you may notice that one of the drop down processor choices is "Intel - Core i7 980X 6 core...". So...it would appear that they are now (very nearly) "in the wild".
