64 Bit Rewire in X1d

I'm wondering here being as 32 bit Rewire involves a shared .dll (dewire.dll) file being present in the Shared Plugins folder to facilitate Rewire functionality for ALL the installed versions of Sonar whether the 64 bit version is the same.

The way to check is if you have an older 64 bit version of Sonar installed it follows that it will also have become 64 bit Rewire capable post the X1D update.  Can anyone confirm this?

I am also wondering if the new implementation is actually new or whether it is merely a 64 bit compiled version of the old dewire dll.

The way to check that is to observe whether there are still 124 redundant output selections IOW 3 for each output channel when only one per channel makes any sense.

Thanks, I appreciate your input here.

Firstly it actually beggars belief that I couldn't get this answered here despite it falling off the front page twice being as 64 bit rewire was a big draw for some.

But I got answers nonetheless albeit from contacts from another vendors forum, thanks Daryl it was indeed a good suggestion.

Firstly yes, if you have installed X1d 64 alongside an earlier version that version does gain 64 bit Rewire compatibility post update (confirmed on version 8.5. installed alongside X1d)

And no, unfortunately there are still 3 outputs per mono Rewire channel 3 through 64 meaning there is still a list as long as you like full of mostly redundant choices, stereo options that work would have been great, but just trimming the selection list options of the 124 useless entries would have been helpful in itself in the absence of anyone doing the work required to pair up the outputs.

So then I wonder if all that was required to bring 64 bit Rewire to the table was to run the existing code for Dewire.dll through a 64 bit compiler why did it take 5 months to materialize in its current form?  And why being as it seems to amount to a trivial routing matrix in a tiny dll can it not be tidied up in a quiet spell one afternoon?

It's been reported and confirmed as a bug over several years yet the new 64 bit version stays untouched.  I don't get it.
