64 bit, 32 bit VSTs
Sonar Pro, Windows 7 Pro. Is it possible to use my 32 bit VSTs in Sonar Pro 64 bit?

Absolutely. SONAR has a built-in 32-bit VST wrapper called Bitbridge that's automatically invoked when a 32-bit plugin is inserted.

All the above being said, Bitbridge is not universally robust in its function.
Some 32 bit plugins just don't work other work better with the commercially available jBridge than Sonars Bitbridge.
Of all the actions that can cause problems, running 32 and 64 bit plugins in the same DAW probably accounts for more instability than any other single action.
Cakewalk introduced 64 bit Sonar 10 years ago in Sonar 5. The interesting thing is usually that plugins that don't provide a 64 bit version are often around the same age so operating in a modern DAW is not going to be the best. Software development has advanced a great deal in the intervening 10 years.
Best advice is to use either all 32 bit in 32 bit Sonar or 64 bit plugins in Sonar 64 bit. Anything else is a lottery without any guarantees. Having said all that, it's easy to give it a try and see how things go.

Toontrack's EZKeys & Superior Drummer 32 bit won't work right in Sonar Pro 64.

Why not download the 64 bit versions from your account. You have access to both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the Toontrack products.

If you find some 32 bit plugins do not function well under bitbridge, try also installing Jbridge. You can then choose which 'bridge' works best on a plugin by plugin basis. Between them most 32bit plugins will run. https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

I also use JBridge; just trying to give a simple answer to a simple question. And I have encountered plugins that run great under Bitbridge but crash JBridge in its default configuration.

I tried doing that and now Sonar freezes when I try to load SD2.

In general if a vendor makes a 64bit version of their product it should be used instead of the 32bit version in 64bit hosts. In the case of Toontrack, their 32bit Superior Drummer 2 does not work in 64bit hosts. You must use the 64bit version of Superior Drummer 2 in 64bit hosts. Although to install the 64bit version, you must first install the 32bit version. Make sure SONAR is loading the correct version.
