64 bit or 32 bit install question Sonar 8.5.3

My DAW died a few months back. Now I miss it, I want to load Sonar 8.5.3 on my Dell 64 bit Windows 8.1 computer. All of my drivers are 32 bit and I am still using my Echo Layla 24/96 as my audio interface, and an old SW 1000XG as my on board synth. I want to also use them using an outboard PCI 4 slot box from PCIE for those items. I can install Sonar as either 64 bit or 32 bit, I am thinking that if I install the Sonar app at 64 bit my 32 bit drivers will not really work as well. Any help appreciated. Question 2 is anyone still using the SW1000 XG on later versions of the Sonar on a 64 bit OS computer?. Anyone know if the Layla 32 bit drivers will load on a 64 bit computer?

Any help appreciated, thanks

I answered my question of the Layla 24 96 drivers. I just downloaded the 64 bit drivers for Vista and XP Pro 64 bit, now to find out if I can still use the SW1000XG 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit Sonar install.

I use the DS2416 drivers (which I believe are the same as the SW1000XG drivers), however they will only work on Windows 7 32 bit.

There's no way you can use the 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit machine.

There may be a way of hacking the 64 bit XP/Vista drivers to work on Win 7 64 or Win10 64, as has been done with the 01X, but AFAIK no-one has done this so far (not sure if anyone's really tried).

If you do get the 64bit XP/Vista drivers working, please let me know how you did it!

If you don't get any luck with 64 bit, anything from the MU10 to the MU90/MU100 or even the QY70/QY100 will give you what the SW1000XG has. Yamaha seemed to put that XG chip in everything around that era. If you prefer something "in the box", you could try the S-YXG50 VSTi instead: http://veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/

Thanks for your reply. After careful study, I decided to go with a new interface and use the softsynths that came with Sonar, or whatever else I have that will work.

I was talking about The Echo Layla 24/96 64 bit drivers above that I got from the Echo Website. I could not find any 64 bit drivers for the SW

I use the Echo Layla 3G with SPLAT 64-bit, on W7 64-bit PC with no worries.
