64 tracks?

I'm considering a 100.
I've been using an Akai DPS 16 with 250 virtual tracks.
If I need more tracks I combine (ex. all guitar tracks)  these to a left and right channel and then clear out the originals to free up those tracks to be used again.

My question is, can you do that with the 100? If so, 64 tracks would be plenty.
Thanks for any info.

If you are useing Sonar Producer 8 or X1 the track count is unlimited :)

Sonar VS that comes with the VS-100 has a limit of 64 Audio Tracks and unlimited Midi Tracks. You can do some bouncing (combining) if you want but if you need more tracks, I would recommend getting Sonar X1 to compliment the VS-100 (Studio or Producer).

The VS-100 will work with the full versions of Sonar, and you get a lot more features and extras with those versions as well. I'm not sure what the upgrade path would be from Sonar VS but it might say on the website, or you could call Cakewalk to find out.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

    hi blimpo,
welcome. yes, you can bounce as codamedia has already mentioned.
btw, the upgrade path is the same one as guitar tracks and home studio, etc.
    i did, it's better.
