6Gsata drive: worth using

Hi,

Is there any benefits/value to use 6G sata drive at this point?

I'm thinking to use one as my Audio drive.

Merci,

Mario

Is "6G" a brand name? The price of the part? You do not mean a six gigabyte capacity do you? Where would you even find such a thing?

6G is correct AKA Sata 3 AKA Sata 600

to the OP from a 300 vs 600 POV no. no benefit.
the added cache 64meg on the sata 600's does however help.
lastly if buying a new drive anyway then why would you not?

IOW, You can run a SATA-III HD on a SATA-II controller... and still achieve the full speed of the HD.

    6.0 Gb/s  (SATA 3)

    as opposed to 3.0 Gb/s  (Sata 2)
