Being the cover master...can you please do a cover of my song "Steve Vai is a Chump"? The song has gotten old and stale and needs a new perspective!

Yea Sure Pal of mine. It is kinda funny I was listening to your song and it reminded me of a song done by some talentless pissant that would record stuff at much lower speeds and then turn the tempo up to get these crazy fast technical sounding runs that were actually atonal drivel. The song was called.....lets see.....umm......Oh yes...Reason 8 and I cant for the life of me remember this dickwads name ...well no matter I would not push that crap on anyone. ha ha
Anyway Pal and lifelong buddy....I will work on this ....um...this thing of yours sometime real soon....stay right there and I will be right back....dont go away....right there...thats it....be right back....

Actually, it was all done in Reason (When I first got reason...So I was effin around to figure out how to use it. It was also the 8th project I had done at the time....which is why the description embedded in the file is Reason 8) So...that is not a guitar...but a synth. But...it needs some new life....yes?

Well Lee yes I knew it was a synth...you cant change tempo in audio as I described but of course I was just playing around as usual with my response. Are you actually being serious? If you are well let me say ...OK very cool...and I will be happy to respond or participate in anything you like.
If you are as typical, screwing with me well....I guess you got me.
Anyway let me know please if you are playing around or actually want to get some fresh or even just new/fresh ears on this tune. I actually..(going out on a limb now and being honest) think that the groove has merit and could get some leggs rather quickly.
Your turn....<squints eyes and winces in anticipation to the response>

I would actually be happy just to give you the song and see what you do with it. I can remove the synth and just leave the bass and drums for you to do your thing to....if interested.

Actually...I am coming up on needing a solo for a couple tunes.....and...well....I am about to start shopping around the idea of someone here doing the lead parts. I'm aiming for an AC/DC meets Neil Young type playing. Do you do that type of thing?

Aren't there plugins that slow or speed audio without changing pitch?

Thaaaaats what I thought....ok so back to the games as usual......

sure I do pal. I wanna use my Vsampler connected to a power soak then the signal overdriven by a toaster oven type thing. You know the sound? I think it will work nicely for an Angus/Neil type crossover. I will of course also be using my windjammer Kazoo for the tricky parts and if you dont mind I would like to invite Amett Zappa or Dweezil for that matter to sound the foghorn for my signiture riffs and any anouncing that may need to be done.

OK pal I love you very very much.
Mark

(and juuuust when I thought I would see some value in you....poof back down to a nice negitive overdrawn balance in the wink of my brown-star)
Quick thought though ol' twit-boy...lets leave the songs forum with some dignity and keep this crap in the coffee house. I dont really like the whole "lets act like buffons" here in this (for the most part) serious section of the forum. Really...no joke...I am sure even you can muster some decency and find value in the idea. Right? Or am I shooting to high with regard to your ability to show a smidge of respect?

I am being serious. AC/DC type raw Neil Young feel. Raw ripped out guitar. I have a song called Blue Torn Shades that I originally played lead on....but I have sent it off to a live drummer and reworked the song a bit. (A couple times actually....bought a new hard drive...lost everything....reworked it again.... ;-) I am hoping to find someone on these forums to help me acheive a balls to the wall type solo for the end. That makes me think of an AC/DC or Neil Young type of thing. I am much more of a song writer than a lead guitarist. And two people came to mind...you and Jeff.

As far as the Steve Vai is a Chump song....I think it would be cool to hear you run with it.

Or...I could just call you some funny names and we could pretend this conversation never took place. But I was being serious.

And...by the way.....what the eff is a brown star? I think I know....but.....yea....the hell is that all about?

Well damn! The past comes to life! ;-)

Yes, Marco...you would qualify for something like that. Actually...if memory serves me....that's the way you play anyway. Interested?

Drop me a note (Lee at LeeNeitzel dot com) and I will get you a rough copy of where the song is now.....and then you can let me know what you think.

Cool to see you again!

I am sorry Lee I guess I am not as intuitive as I thought. You cant really blame me though...for doubting the authenticity of your request. I am very pleased that I was wrong I will gladly say. So there it is ...I would be thankful if my jadded outlook to your posts were forgotten and my apology accepted. (and thanks for the compliment...)
So....I would be glad to be involved. Would you send me a copy of the song as is and one without whatever leads you want replaced. I also play keys and bass and other stuff if there is a thought you may want some new ideas in those areas, however the rhythm section sounds like it is as it should be. Maybe some funky slapping or something?? Let me know in some detail what you would like to see as the end result if you have any thoughts there. If you want some other ears to just dig in blind with some new ideas that is cool too.
send to mcolquitt@gmail.com ....that is my new primary email.....and again I am glad to help in any way you like

SONAR's groove clips will increase speed according to tempo change. Cut the audio into loops and speed up to taste.
