7:26AM (PST), March 15, 2011
The spacey bass is on the UPS truck with a status of "Out for delivery today". Update (12:00PM): Weird. The Lovely Lady says the truck pulls up. Stops in front of the house. The driver never gets out. (From within the truck) Emerges to his seat, looks at his clipboard and then drives off. Update (1:30PM): The eagle has landed.

So do you have to wait until you get off work to see it? Or is it being delivered to work? Or did you take the week off in honor of National Pi Day and/or National Potato Chip Day?

bapu Can't see it until I get off work. So you'll get home to find one of those "Sorry you were out, but we did try to deliver. Honest!!" cards... You turn it over to find you can collect from the depot, but it closes at 6:00 and it's already 5:35 and you know it takes 40 mins to get there, even without the rush hour traffic.

You turn it over to find you can collect from the depot, but it closes at 6:00 and it's already 5:35 and you know it takes 40 mins to get there, even without the rush hour traffic. Yeah, I've played that song before. How about this one (actual story from last week): Online order. UPS Tracking says delivery Friday. I'm home and I see the UPS truck zoom by. No stopping. I go check the UPS status. It says "bad address need updated address to make delivery" I go to the online order address is correct. I send email to online store. Please correct address. Monday morning UPS says "address corrected, delivery today" Online store says, "yeas, address was corrected, UPS says delivery today" Box comes. New label is pasted over old label. Old labels says 1139 as house number. We're 1131. There is no 1139 on our street (cul de sac, we're second to last highest house number on the street). So how does and online store that has my correct address produce UPS label with the wrong address? Oh yeah, a person did it.

I was just concerned ,, I am sure it is packed and padded securely.... I ordered an AMp flight case from California and UPS had the shipping carton soaked in liquid and torn ...good thing nothing was in it and it was an ATA style case

Don't believe these people. There's no need to worry Bapu. I'm sure that UPS, knowing that you know noted half-brother of the Lord of Darkness Stan personally, will take exquisite care of your Am facilitating package. It will be Am a great day!
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

There are no houses at the end of the cul de sac. This cul de sac is big enough for three UPS trucks end-to-end. He can zoom by at about 30 mph turn around and be outtta there in flash. OMG, I just realized he'll be driving like that all day with my new bass in there.

Don't worry Bapu....I tossed it off the top of the house, rode my Harley over it and dropped it about 5 times before I mailed it. I wanted to make sure that cardboard box was a good one.

I don't know what that means but doesn't look good! I did like the way it fit in the case. The Fender case is for the Jazz bass and I did shake it and the bass didn't move any that I could tell. Took a little effort to close too so the padding is doing it's job.

I can picture it now: Bapu getting three speeding tickets on the way home... His Lovely Lady asking him to stop and eat supper and tell her about his day first... Bapu being told that these dishes aren't going to wash themselves... Bapu finally tearing open the packaging, gently opening the catch, holding his breath as he opens the lid... Bapu sitting in stunned silence at the empty case and the torn shred of paper that reads, "Mooch was here"...
