73 Year-Ol "Codger Doin' Doo-Wop"
If I read the title properly this is where I can post access to my YouTube Channel. Right??? http://www.YouTube.com/user/cpkoch I am interested in receiving constructive comments and ideas as to where the this idea can lead. In short, it calls for my singing and recording the top 100 hits tunes fro the 50s and also fro the 60s ... one a week for the next 4 years or so! Right now I am just putting it out there just for the fun of it; but, I'm also wondering about collaborating with like minded Ol Codgers or Codgers of any age, If the idea strikes you as being fun, lemme know.

When I inserted the link some extra characters were included in the URL. The link seems to work fine now. http://www.YouTube.com/user/cpkoch By the way ... Are you the guy doing the vocals on your YouTube Channel? Are you also the composer? Sounds great!

Conrad, you just took me on a trip down memory lane. It's cool that you discovered the original "Hound Dog" because I love that version. "Mariah" sounds like it could have come from a movie soundtrack. Very nice. "Stormy Monday Blues" is a song that I've played hundreds of times, and I really appreciate your version. When I get more time, I'll come back and listen to more of your songs. I think there are a number of people here that would love to work with you, and you would fit in quite well. Check out the posts here over a period of time, and you'll hear what I'm talking about. This is a great and helpful forum. Yeah, that's me singing and writing those songs. Some with my former band WIFE, and some are just me alone. Thanks for the kind words. P.S.- your songs are mastered at fairly low volumes. If you could give them a few extra db's they would really pop out of a listening system, though that's just a very minor nit. They sound good as they are.

I am new to Music Production (about 3 months)! I'm working with Sonar X3 Studio and it has represented kind of a life changing thing. I tell folks that my excuse for starting the YouTube Channel to publish my songs is based on wanting to hone my skills at producing good sound. Consequently your comment concerning the production quality is exactly the kind of feedback I need. My settings are very simple. I use a backing track and often soften the harsh bass rumble, that seems to be so popular, with VST2 EQ64. I sing into the Sonitus Reverb's "Venue" preset. Just for kicks I play around with Volume, Pan and Reverb automation to try and create some depth and width effects. Thanks for your most kind remarks. I really look forward to what might be in store so far as collaboration is concerned. It's kind of funny! My style preference is more along the lines of My Funny Valentine and I Believe but I get more hits on songs like Stormy Monday and Hound Dog. You Were Always Always on My Mind is kind of a mid-style;o far it has been the most popular on the channel.

Did I see you posting on the "Play With Your Music" site? I signed on to see if I can get a little more music production learning under my belt! I, along with others that frequently post on this site, took the Berklee School of Music MOOC through Coursera and thought it was great!
