congratulations you have won
a year's subscription to your lord
and a windowless room with a view of the morgue
and the pieces of people who used to be whole
I saw you hanging with all of your friends
the ones with alien eyes and some had lizard tails
they don't complain because they're already dead
but they're still very well dressed

this time, I am gonna break you
twilight idol of creation
shining on all civilization
as zeitgeist idols are forsaken

miscalculations you have blessed
with auto-correct roboticness
a social disease loves a sicker network as
a statue of **** loves a pile of dirt

this time, I am gonna break you
twilight idol of creation
shining on all civilization
as zeitgeist idols are forsaken

I'm so sorry that you bore me

Very cool ! Would have done some things differently aesthetically as a producer & engineer.
    But still pleasing.

    Daryl,

You asked about levels. I think the levels are spot on for grunge. I'm starting to wonder if you've been possessed by the spirit of Kurt Kobain :).....If you haven't worked hard on this mix it sure sounds like you did. Those L/R effects are killer. Great work. I won't even venture to ask what the lyrics mean, I'm probably going to have nightmares tonight as it is

About the levels; the wave file looks like a tootsie roll. But audio is clean & clear on two sets of cans, a pair of EVENT's, as well my JBL'.

Personally I, think if you've been possessed it's been by either,Lane Staley, or Jerry Cantrell ; )

I'm hearing some serious Layne Staley influence here. This reminds me of the Dirt era Alice In Chains. Very well done, as always bro.

hey very cool everyone huge thank you for listening/feedback. invaluable stuff as few days back my ears were shot and had no idea on mix lol -

AIC comparisons are great ;) think it's more default limitation of being baritone singer and loving harmony layering in general. i can't really go full throttle above F in middle C without doing falsetto so when tracking the high harmonies eg 5th-dominant ill sing it an octave lower so the highest harmony is actually the lowest note eg sing '1-3-5' triad as '5-1-3' second inversion, the 5th being the lowest note and also strongest/barritone speaking and your brain gets fooled that it's the root melody when it's the dominant 5 - This is how Jerry Cantrell / Layne arranged a lot of signature AIC

also guitar FX is simply hard panning tremolo I/0 setting delay to exact metronome 1/16th dotted (Logic Pro 9)

Great tune. There needs to be more definition for the guitars. To me, they seem to mushy.

    Nice effects.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

load of great stuff here....killer guitar work and mixing. I would only add there is something very fatiguing in the mix...I've have to have the whole project in my hand to see what it causing that but I suspect its mainly on the vox....some type of effect....out the gate is was a great effect but quickly had me turning down volume....which is a shame cuz I really like the tune but the grittiness was really getting the best of me.

this is an excellent tune and no question you put loads of work into it to make this a really winner~~

    great work!

After seeing your description in the header I had to listen!!  I think you certainly invoked the spirit of FN.  Personally, I think Justin Beiber deserved it.  Great song, arrangement and playing!!

Next, why not have a song where Richard Rorty discusses post-structuralism with Katy Perry?

I really had fun listening to this song.  You have a way with words that is so uniquely you.  You have honed this style of music to the point that I would know it was you in a crowded room.  I'd continue, but I must listen again...

Great combination of lyrics and vocals on a very appropriate musical bed.   It just works.   I liked that last note of the guitar solo as the vocals came back in...
