A 800 Pro - Programme change beyond 127

Hi all I have a number of VST synths that have way over 127 presets - eg Camel Alchemy Player has 800! I can dial up the first 127 from wherever I start but is there anyway that I could dial up any of the 800 presets using the programme change knob On a related issue on the Z3ta+ there are several different banks but I can only access the first one with the programme change knob - is there a way of getting access to the others from this knob - I have tried doing a bank change instruction but that doesn't seem to work Thanks for any help!! Did you contact tech support? No one here seems to know the answer. I have Korg Legacy Collection whose presets can be changed via Sonar's commands, but have never considered changing the banks as well. But I'm interested.

Hi I haven't tried the tech support people - as no one seems to know here maybe I should try - are they usually helpful?

I've just made the same attempt (using Korg M1 VST) and failed to change the banks. So I sent an inquiry to Roland. Here in JP they normally reply the next day, so I may be able to let you know their answer tomorrow. Cake tech support normally replies in a few days and they are nice, too. But they take more days to re-reply and their answers are not always helpful.

Received a reply from Roland last weekend but they mistakenly thought (which is quite rare) I was talking about a hardware version of M1
Now they know it's the vst version M1 and I also told them TTS-1 too doesn't respond to bank change messages. I'm expecting a reply tomorrow...

Ok, so they replied and I now know how to change the banks in TTS-1.

(I'm sure you already know how to change LSB/MSB settings, but let me give a step-by-step instruction as it might help other users)

    1. Power on the A-Pro hardware.
    2. Launch Sonar and open a project. Sonar automatically sends the Sonar ACT map to the A-Pro and the ACT button lights up, as usual.
    3. Switch off the ACT button (the light goes off).
    4. Load TTS-1.
    5. Simultaneously press the ACT button and the left arrow button on the A-Pro and select "Function" by turning the Value knob, then press the same knob.
    6. Turn the Value knob and select "BANK MSB" and press the knob again.
    7. Turn the Value knob and select 121, which is the MSB value for TTS-1's GM2 Normal presets (this is what I didn't know).
    8. Simultaneously press the ACT button and the left arrow button and select "Function" again, then press the knob again.
    9. Turn the Value knob and, this time, select "BANK LSB" and press the knob.
    10. Play the A-Pro keyboard and, of course, you'll hear a piano sound (Piano 1).
    11. Press the left arrow button on the A-Pro until you see "PGM CHANGE."
    12. Turn the Value knob and select "5" (to make it easy to confirm the bank change, because it has larger banks).
    13. Play the A-Pro keyboard, and you'll hear the sound of "E.Piano 2" (preset number 6).
    14. Press the right arrow button on the A-Pro until you see "BANK LSB."
    15. While playing the keyboard with the right hand, turn the Value knob with the left hand. You'll see/hear the change of banks/sounds. Of course, if you press the left arrow key and go back to "PGM CHANGE" and turn the Value knob, you can change the presets again.

Did this help? Try the same with the synths you have (check which MSB number(s) you are supposed to use first).

    Thanks

    Tak T.
