A Gnome's Life
Hi, I normaly post my tracks in the project5 forum cause i make electronica tracks usually, but recently i've been branching out and playing my guitars and my newly aquired bass guitar, so i thought i'd see what you all would think of it here. I'm no whiz on guitar, just like playing simple stuff, but i think it works kind of ok. It's a 3 part mini-concept about a Gnome. Yeah i know, daft, but you've gotta have a laugh now and them havent you? Track(s) recorded entirely in project5. Thanks in advance for any comments. Cheers, blipp. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=256008&content=songinfo&songID=7433360

You know, I have project five, and have never used it. What is it? What makes it suited to electronica? This was cool. I enjoyed it. Cheers Shad

Cheers Shad Hi foxwolfen, thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it. Project5 is a pattern based sequencer that really lends itself to making electronic tracks due to it's pattern based sequencing. Record a pattern in the pattern window and load it into the arrange window. i find it great for recording audio as well. Although i've been using it for over five years myself there are others on the p5 forum who could give you better info than i could to be honest as i just use it's very basic features. They're a real friendly bunch on the p5 forum ask anything and you'll get lots of help. Cheers.

Mr.Blipp, This is great. Tilted and infectious groove with nice twists and turns melodically and rhythmycally. Is it my imagination or did the volume go down half way in to the piece? My only annoyance is that maybe it would be better slit into more pieces, at least two???

LOve dat bass sound! It's all recorded nicely. Are you direct on the bass? This thing was wildly arranged but not! It seemed random, but not. Very nice work and well recorded.

Hi, blipp, Man, I loved this little "suite" on a Gnome's Life. I really enjoy this type of music and I think you pulled it off remarkably well. There is a very appealing feel to your composition/orchestration that I would call something like "Yes lite" if I was pressed to describe this piece. For sure, that implies a certain "retro" quality, but I think there is, for sure, a retro quality to what you've done here. You really have a knack for setting up a sonic texture and vibe and then variating it to make it move forward to the next level. I hope to one day be able to achieve the sort of sonic landscapes that you have created here. Very, very nice job, indeed. Congratulations. I could listen to this over and over. Best regards, Bill

Blipp, I agree with the Fusion Jam comment made earlier. The mix sounds very good. The only thing I'm hearing (and this is on a computer speaker environment) is that the kick drum has a very distinctive "tap" sound that is very distracting rather than a "thump". Beyond that, this is a very cool jam (has that "Yes" band feel). Love the sound of the bass guitar. Thanks for sharing, Tom

Blipp, +1 on the Ocean's Eleven vibe. This is really good - very creative use of Project 5, I'd say. Some great sounds and cool atmospherics. I love the bass sound. Interesting meter changes, and excellent contrast between sections. Well done!

Very nice indeed Blipp, this sounds wonderful through headphones, really spacious and deep. The blend of electronica and real bass & guitar works perfectly. I'd love to hear more like this, bring it on!

I think i might have screwed up somewhere when normalising them Have to take another look.
