It's weird.  They also managed to avoid Phoenix, but it's playing in Tucson.

I suspect the lingering taste of the degradation the Beatles suffered at the hands of promoters that produced the stupid early movies probably was the spur that eventually led to the creation of the White album. That and the financial success from the paying mobs of teenyboppers which made it possible to do something different and not worry about going broke by alienating their early audience.

I did not have good words together to say just about what you described. If anything, the White Album, for me, is a VERY PERSONAL album about all 4 of them, and I like the fact that the original LP had clean photographs of them LP sized. I like to think that it told you that way it was ... and sometimes, we just didn't get it and thought something else.

I'm specially fond of "Revolution #9" because it is so simple and obvious, that we can not even think of duplicating it. Tell Bapu to shush, get his portable recorder, and star walking out of the studio, close the door and record everything in front of him for the next 10 minutes. If he doesn't have the next CHB song after that he ain't no musician! He Am a goon! Strummy will probably be in the background, saying something like ... yeah Brazil ... you can't play with the big dogs!

Just been watching AHDN. It hasn't aged well

Ready for Magical Mystery Tour? :P

Not much there to work with ... maybe giving the "Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah Band" their well deserved credit, but unfortunately, the piece was "silent" mimicking the old movies.

Santa Barbara would be hipper at the Riviera theater, or the Arlington.

I guess I can consider myself a lucky one who lives where a movie theater screening was showing. Here in the Chicagoland area, they had two theater showings. One is located in the Chicago inner city area; the other being a one-night stand in the suburbs (Downers Grove). City traffic bugs me, so I opted for the suburban showing last night. What a treat. The theater is a classic, older one from by-gone days and has a 1000-seats. I really did not know what to expect. My wife and I attended with another couple. I figured we could end up being the only people in the theater, or it could be a full-house.  Well, the latter it was. They sold out all 1000-tickets and had to turn away even more people. Yep. Beatlemania fans are still alive. I really liked it when a large part of the audience actually clapped after a couple of the performance numbers in the movie. The largest being near the end when they performed "She Loves You". It was just a cool event seeing it with a large group of fellow fans and reminiscers.

Broken pencils are pointless.
