A Little Bit on EZ Keys Strings and Keys
Strings and Keys has 2 sections, Straight 3/4 and Straight 4/4. 3/4 has Alt Americana loops in it and 4/4 has Indie Pop, Retro Ballad, 60's Pop, 70's Pop,Classic Rock, Retro Rock and Indie Rock all in the usual Intro, Chorus, Bridge ect format. The Strings section has counter parts to everything in the Keys section. I opened EZ Keys in X3 and Sampletank3 for the string midi. I had them on the same midi channel and could play along with the one I had selected. The strings are like the keys as each variation get a little more "notey".I tried Miroslav which sounded good and SampleMoog. The Therimen sounded very "Ed Wood but worked with the midi. Electric guitar worked well with some of the patches some didn't. Tron flutes and strings sounded good. Basically you have a parallel thing that kind of dances around the keys part like strings, woodwinds and brass would. You can use the strings midi for piano too and they work just fine . Easy to put a little right hand along with it and make it your own. It should be more usable than the jazz and latin packs for most. If I didn't own it now, with just about 30 min of using it, I would get it. I look forward to trying it with Session Strings and Horns. This is a good one with unexpected versatility. I was concerned it would be so specific it wouldn't be very usable. It's not. I tried the Country pack too and liked it. Other than some B Bender, hamer-on type things in the piano technique it didn't stick out as overly country. Should be a good one to have. That's all there is.... there ain't no more.
