A New Video Series from Cake

i think cake should introduce a video series on how tow to optimize windows 7 for Sonar and show proper installation of their product. i think this will cut down on alot of complaints in the forum. please dont kill the messenger lol, its just a suggestion

Peace & Blessings

This is certainly a good idea. However, there really aren't any optimizations that absolutely have to be done in Win7 to get it to run SONAR well. Installing SONAR properly is as simple as running the installer and leaving it on Auto as it will put all the stuff in the right places.

I'd love to see a in-depth series on some of the instruments included in X1, even going back to some of the older ones.

I played around with the GrooveSynth on just a regular pad tweaking the filter and came up with some of the most bass heavy and crazy sweeps that I've heard.

    I have a few tricks
Disable Windows media center and it helps run multiple synths better

set power option for high performance

change system sounds to no sounds

disable search indexing- Computer Management>Serives and Applications>Services>scroll down to windows search service and disable it.

    See if these help.

Laney, do you listen to CD's on your DAW.  If so, what do you use to play them back?

    Cheers,

I appreciate the input. please feel free to turn this thread into a How to.... @Seth im sure Sonar was designed to instal without requiring any modifications of the OS but are you saying that optimizing "will not" increase performance/stability? Thank you for your time. Peace & Blessings
