A Sad Fiddle Tune (Link Fixed)

Bob Oister had made a comment in my Happy Fiddle Tune thread that he had been to a civil war museum and heard some fiddle music. The tunes were most likely from my pal, Jay Ungar, who wrote and performed the tunes for the Civil War movie. I posted this tune after recording it  a few months back but here it is again. BEAUTIFUL.
    i love this stuff.
the more melancholy, the better for me.

sounds like a backing track for one of the ken burns civil war episodes...

it's funny, how certain choices of note, tempo, trills, invokes very specific memories that are tied to specific times.

scotty, do you do this intentionally, or are you simply that well versed in the styles?
    either way, really nice melodies....
    the capture is great.
between the piano, the nice stringy quality of the violins, and the acoustics, it all blends so well.

one of my favorites you've done.
    bravo.

First of all, I want to apologize for the broken link. It cut off early, but now it is fixed.

    Chas,
    Thank you!

    Mike,
    Thanks...that means a lot.

    Rik,
Glad you liked it. It was indeed a tune from that documentary.

    Wookie,
Thank you. Happy to play for you anyday.

    Gonz,
Thank you very much for your in depth critique. I'm glad it was pleasing to your ears. I don't know if I do it intentionally or not...I just play what comes natural.  Give it another listen with the ending now attached.

    Herb & Janet,
    Thank you much!

    Hi, Scotty,

    This is absolutely fantastic!

I remember when you first posted this a while back, and I think it might actually be one of the songs that was played at the Civil War exhibition that made me instantly think of your great playing and style.  I'll bet you're right about your friend being the one who also did the soundtrack for the Civil War Road Show, it may have actually been some songs from the same soundtrack of the Ken Burns movie.  I'm on my third listen, and it really sounds great.

Anyway, amazing playing skills, as always, and a perfect, pro sounding mix.  Dynamite job, buddy!
