A Salvage Job... "YOU KNOW A LOT"
Going back a few years for this one... I wrote this tune about 3 years ago after my girlfriend left me...the second time. I was the co-pilot on recording this one. My brother recorded it in Sonar 8.5 and also played bass. The rest is me. And I STILL don't know any singers, nor do I own AutoTune... so I have to make do with my own voice unfortunately. LMAO Should be good for a laugh today anyway. The original mix wasn't great, and was sort of "scooped"- very boom and sizzle... so I threw it into X2 this morning, and with some ProChannel and a healthy dose of Ozone 5, this is what I came up with: http://soundcloud.com/tbosco/you-know-a-lot

I like it... "in yer face guitars"... loud & rude... Vocals sound fine to me... BGVs may be a little off, but work perfectly for the song... good work Tony...

I love this song and the energy it projects. It's bright and jangly, but it fits with the mood of the song. I wouldn't worry too much about your vocal; it sounds good. I'm still impressed with the song you did of the loops that came with X2. It took me most of a day just to download that package, but I can hardly wait to get into it.

Thanks Lynn... and I'm glad that thing helped somebody! LOL I never thought about "rude"... very cool adjective! I'll take that as a compliment. :-)

Didn't hear the first mix but this one is coming through very well here. The guitars are up front and so are the vocals and that makes this tune IMO. I wish I could say I never met one of those kind of chicks....I can relate to the message in it too. Nice work Tom.

Starise- Yeah, all I had to work with was the original stereo wav master on this one. I wrote 3-4 tunes because of that gal... LOL.. Good song inspiration I suppose, but tough on the spirit. Got all that behind me now though! Thus, songs like "Clouds On Fire".

Very interesting song. I guess country rock works for a description but it seems to have a lot more to it. Can't explain what I mean but I like this song. Hey, if we can survive those gals leaving we tend to end up with some good tunes. I have one experience that inspired 3 songs. The first one was Out Of Love which we posted a while ago. I just couldn't sing that one right so..... I have two more I want to do this year. They're written so they just need to be recorded. I feel your pain AND your inspiration. The good thing is I have a great wife for the last 28 years. I only finished one song about her and it's not really finished. I think that's good. Ha!! Nice work here, buddy.

I think this is the first song i have heard from you with vocals. you got the bass to sit in the mix well. and the song has a great grove to it. This kind of mix is what I have come to expect from you. You always do great work. The only thing I would say is that some of the background vocals are a little hard to make out in places. But this is another home run my friend! nice job

I too have written songs about GFs (not yours, don't worry (as far as you know?)) A strong Petty vibe to me. Remember, no matter how hot she is? Somewhere, there's somebody who's tired of her "crapay..." I would mix the bass up a bit more, but I'm hearing everybody's bass too low! (I like a big, fat, round, protruding "bottom") Not too big? But there should be something there to hold on to (musically speaking) I like the guitars.

Good song Tony. For some reason it sorta reminds me of Rick Derringer but with a country-edge on it. I think Derringer's great, so in other words that's a compliment

Wow! Nice to wake up to these compliments this morning! Thanks so much guys, honestly. Petty? Derringer? (I loved Derringer's first solo album in '73... Rock N Roll Hootchie Koo!) Mark- I have a couple more in the Forum... Check out "Clouds On Fire" and "Chameleon's Reflection", and let me know what ya think. Marcus- You won't hear my vocals very often. I've gotten too old for singing (57) and they sucked IMO to begin with. LOL Warren- Get on it buddy! Write those tunes and put 'em out here! 28 years? EXCELLENT my friend!

I like this song, which is unusual because I usuially don't like non-pro songs. The only thing I would add is to bring the vocals forward, the instrumentals drown the voice out a bit. -Mike
